Privacy Policy
How KidEconomy protects your family's data.
1. Operator Details
KidEconomy is a Public Benefit Corp in Delaware, for issues or questions contact support@kideconomy.com
2. Data Collection and Strict Minimization
We practice strict Data Minimization to protect your family and comply with the 2026 standards of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- What We Collect: We collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate your private "Circle." For parents, we collect an email address and use an FTC-approved method to obtain "verifiable parental consent" (such as a signed consent form, a small credit/debit card transaction, or facial recognition matching against a government ID).
- What We DO NOT Collect: We do not collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from children, such as physical addresses, Social Security Numbers, or persistent tracking identifiers like IP addresses, device IDs, or tracking cookies. We do not collect GPS coordinates or street-level location data. Because all transactions in the platform are for local exchange only, we do not collect or store shipping addresses.
- Blockchain Privacy: While KidEconomy utilizes the public Stellar blockchain for transactions, no PII (such as a child's name, age, or location) is ever written to the public ledger. All blockchain data is strictly transactional and uses pseudonymous wallet addresses.
3. Parental Rights and Verifiable Consent
KidEconomy is a "Walled Garden" where the parent acts as the legal custodian. We provide "Direct Notice" and require verifiable parental consent before any data is collected from a child.
Parents have the right to review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's personal information at any time. We provide a secure, simple mechanism within the parent dashboard to execute these rights.
4. No "Conditioning" of Participation
We do not require or condition a child's participation in any KidEconomy activity (such as making a "Deal" or opening a "Shop") on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your child's data. Any third-party vendors or service providers connected to the KidEconomy platform are contractually obligated to maintain the absolute confidentiality and security of the data they process.
6. Security and Data Retention
- Security Measures: We use enterprise-grade security, including encryption, regular security audits (penetration testing), and secure AWS Nitro Enclaves for key management to protect your family's data.
- Minimal Retention: We have a strict policy to securely dispose of and delete data once the purpose for which it was originally collected has been fulfilled.
7. Policy Updates
If KidEconomy materially changes its data practices or privacy policies, we will issue a new Direct Notice and obtain new verifiable consent from parents before those changes take effect.
